The new moon starts tuesday Sep 27th here represents least light or the dark moon at maximum yin energy. Afterwards leads into to the wuxing aka waxing phase for begins and producing things.



Vedic portions here done proudly and properly in the zodiac which actually works best and the most directly accurate in real world events aka the tropical western zodiac.



The New Moon's Libra physical:


The physical of Libra this month is a pasts based and obviosuly cyclic type.

The main chart ruler is that of libra throughout this period aka *Venus*.


Libra takes in many areas to do with the social relational and legal aspects or things of legal aspects this month and also the specifics of the Chitra nakshatra will say a lot about it's nature.

Other areas include the more refined of man in arts, cultures and diplomacies then in itself Libra has very airey and dual sided mental etc qualities to it too.

Venus, Satrun, Mercury and Mars are where, who and what clamors for all the attention and *gets noticed* in outer events. Saturn is also well on a par with Venus in that regard.

The other powerful chart ruler is Mars in Leo 11th bhava activities areas not quite as strong as Venus but pretty forminable and directly rules those of Aries 7th and Scorpio 2nd bhava activities areas also.

Mars rules the physical also as is the ruler of the nak that the physical falls in, so the Chitra characteristics come to the fore in physical interactions, direction and activties in things.

Further that of Ketu in the Gemini 9th areas also influences Mars areas.


Venus influences both Ketu and Rahu as mentioned below *and further Venus is strongly influenced by Rahu* as well this period.


In outer events themselves the moon in the physical aka the general public, etc determines the direction of things there.


Minus a few xtra details I think most would have had a good gist of the month by just noting Venus as the chart ruler and all the aspects to it but don't want to give any the impression I'm disenchanted with this or any so thought would add couple details on it.


In the past it was all the time in this and developing the 6 coin wwg iching that blocked me from making headway in other areas.

Now that's all done and covered so I stay extremely busy in those other pursuits I missed out on.

Here try to do just enough that safety itself is well coverable via the charts themselves, and it is as having a good and correct picture that others can refer too is the main there.

In fact should be some others who can do this too now as long as it's in the correct and accurate of the tropical zodiac that is, as one day I just won't be around.



Checked on one area and that of this chart won't follow that associated a prior toss in it's trends as far as the nodes go, they go on for it's areas and that which matched but not this lunar months or specifically the new moon phase.


This one has Rahu as destructive and Ketu as in wealth or oriented to those areas as their influences in this zone, and then again it's Venus in turn that influences those.

Most recognize or will that those as nodes represent the karmic which has to do with the recent two lunar periods of prior events and issues. Some there of even years back then some other separate of their areas in general can be years back as well.

Those always are significant in the roles they play and are of their own also very connected or a strong influence to both the physical and outer events of their areas in the main and then to all chart areas overall.

So you'll see some relative that of the signs they are in, and then directly in physical results and events of their influences types and current natures. Those will occur in and of the *3rd and 9th bhava *activities areas* where they are located this zone*.

You have Jupiter rx another pasts influences the present factor in the 8th bhava activities area of common joint and others stuff plus other etc involved with and influencing Rahu's actions in those 3rd areas.

In turn that pulls in and connects the 6th bhava activities and areas including enemies to it as well courtesy of Jup rx it's ruler.



On the other side or the 9th bhava activities and areas you have Mercury's areas and pairs in the physical itself applying to all there which directly influences Ketu in the 9th areas besides pulling issues that all the other in the physical rules as well into it.

So we've noted what all affects and plays in as issues as far as the nodes in their areas go, then it's helpful to remember that it's Venus in Libra and physical areas that has the strongest influencing on them and their current characters or states of being in actions and events now.



Ok lets get off the charts and into other situations of life as far as Rahu goes:

Just off the top and not going for a perfect description and more along the
lines of practicality to understand it's nature.


Now Rahu is the North node and always points to or is of some direction one is taking in their affairs.

There's always a lot of turbulence to it as it's where your moving into new and unfamiliar territory or making new or furthering advances in a familiar one. That's the main gut of what Rahu is about.


So easy to see that can be good or bad in a chart depending on one it's inherited nature at the time. That will be from any planet with it in the same bhava or from one that rules the bhava or one that rules the entire chart. There's almost always some type of other influenceing it.


So again in your own chart Rahu might be of pretty high utility to you if he doesn't wear you out.

Example lets say you have some hobby or liesure or even study that your really into. Rahu's effect in that would cause you to burn all possible hours and time just within that one area. You might ignore everything else on the planet just to spend time in that one area.

That's characteristice of Rahu's influence on you is for you to keep driving and moving forward in it's area. People often lose control of themselves at times in the area that Rahu is in your chart and when he becomes actiive via dasha or is by transit aspected.

At times Rahu can actually bring you temporary or short term bursts of wealth whereever he resides so can be positive in that regard as long as you keep things in proper context.

It can be very positive in terms of advances and successes in what you do there, and it can be detrimental to your health if you don't keep the amount of energy you expend there under control.

Rahu's like the lunatic in some ways as it continuously drives or pushes you forward in it's areas to the exclusion of all other things.

I'm sure you can think of some situations where that wouldn't be an asset.

In life we have to learn to keep a lot under control and Rahu hates being controlled, so a lot becomes a matter of our own maturity as to how successful we will be when Rahu comes to the fore.

Last day of other lunar month and FM zone per se, and on reset tonight for tomorrow
not a repeat for the Uppers so may make for some good contrasts. In happenings and of news and of our chinese date to see the mergence or linkage of one month to the other also.

Wrong script had corrected then posted wrong one too much work with compilers lately. Did take one step backwards on the walking this weekend, but came back better today still one weak area yet, so keep it short yet.

On compilers a step up from the tailored for micro controllers type to the full fledged types in both windows and linux. An area that mystifyed me for years but from the boost from the Nerdkit and then finding some good documentation was able to make the jump. Some books have a lot of incomplete examples that illustrate principles but don't work. Took some like that and then added additional code too which worked so a good initial start there at last.


Learning itself begins at the self level so any can really make it if they want too. That of Nerdkit excellent for the many reasons before quoted but if $ a concern don't let that stop you go the texas instrument launchpad route, you'll not find a better deal on the planet!


Want to just program instead??

Tons of free options on the net there, but in C compilers you can also get some grade A+ professional ones for free too.

Straight c, c++ and beyond via the GNU GCC aka GCC compiler that comes in any major free linux distrubution for the pc.

A laugh on my part there as I had *via an article* went all over the net looking for it, only to find it was already in my linux :)...

Initially and long ago had started with then a minor not major distro and it had no C compiler, so didn't occur to me that the major ones had such.

So you do get the full fledged and professionnal GNU GCC compiler free and already within any major linux distro you install on your pc.

Also directly for any mac or windows os is a fully professional true working Mingw GCC compiler from Bloodshed.net both types of C compilers *are fully and very well documented* separately and built in for them.

The latter very key *as what you need* is one that includes complete documentations that not only fully in depth describe using each area of the compiler itself but also the C language at the same time.

Those two types do just that!


I know as spent some good money on several C language books a couple of years back that authored by professors and other so called experts but just turned out to be near useless when you went to implement their coded examples on an actual compiler.

So getting a compiler that comes with excellent documentation is what's important there for you and gets the job done.


GNU *GCC* means C and C++. Plus it actually handles and compiles several other languages as well not just the C type.

You may have to look around there but there's a fully open source free one at Bloodshed.net besides other advertised.

The windows version of it runs great under wine app in linux as well so you can cover three os in one as have for the mac too with that.

Some wonder about Linux but it is ideal for various programmings environments and any and all that you'd want in materials can be downloaded from your distro's libraries and are totally free.

That's good enough in itself but in my case found a lot of the avr aka atmel micro controllers were in the linux libraries as well.

Linus doesn't require special drivers for the usb to serial option either as are already built in. So adding linux as a second os if not primary on a pc always good in those regards.

Getting off topic a second but one great thing I like about Linus is once it does that ultra fast boot up, there's no more drive spin as there always will be in windows types,
so a linux install on one pc would mean that drive should last near to forever.

In other areas except for a few windows is the ideal overall for everything. Some of the few count though and I have to use both os's myself.

That or instead of putting the linux distro on your pc *you could use the usb type of linux distro* from one of your usb ports which still leaves the others still free for other or programmer interfaces too.

Probably has to be a major distro like Ubuntu for that *to insure your using the actual GCC compiler* but that of Bloodshed.net running under the wine app *will probably work on any including the very popular Puppy as well* :).

So just pointing out all the options *are there and free* for any who want to get into the tailored of micro controller programming for hands on self learnings or also the full scale of actual C++ programmings and works as well.

It's all there for you at no cost except for micro controller kits that is, and next to nothing if you go texas instruments launchpad route.

Some say 100 in 1 projects are sure great too, thats very true but one micro controller can become a 1000 in 1 projects unit :).


One other option I can think of and for any interested is you can get some useful things more along the original Basic programmings language too. Not free except for Liberty's Run basic but others at fairly low costs.

Liberty basics *Pro* version will handle an awful lot in programmings and is about $50 at the most definitely a good investment there.


Than if you actually can afford more or for christmas etc then *Purebasic* is truly awesome, looks like basic with C combined and you can directly program in *assembly language too boot* as well...Talk about power!

Funny part about the Purebasic is that I've had it for years on the pc and had never used it??

Reason: It was so C like in appearence that I didn't fully understand it. C was a mystery to me, mainly because of tons of bad or more accurately near useless info on it, and I could only self study at home without going back to college or something like that.

I had a great former background in Basic and Assembly language programmings *many years back* on both apple and pc plus actually worked one year as a designer at a micro controller firm. So was not exactly a total moron in the area of programmings itself have forgot a lot since but also a lot coming back now too.

However that weird looking C stuff was always just a total mystery to me up and until now.

If I don't fully understand something on a pc then I just won't touch it, was how that on the Purebasic went clear up to now, but praise God I finally can use it now!

Tested a bit last night and did an alteration to an existing program as first project had wanted a different type outcome.

So chopped some and plugged in a quick subroutine there and bam worked just fine.

Before would have been afraid to make any change period as I simply had no concept of C.



Anyway if I can do it, so can you and a lot of others too so took the time to show how you might get there too.

In basic it started from something small called a Nerdkit what a surprise boost that turned out to be from just working with the tiny c made simple of it.


So while my life really sucks health and body wise, etc at least I get some good pluses in other ways, and pass it on, thanks to just being U.S.

Speaking of that directly and legal stuff rcvd word from Texas Instruments (TM) that on this date *they agreed* to purchase National Semiconductor.

So if TI wasn't already a super resource globally *it is without peer in that now*, as National Semiconductor has always been a great and trusted source of many different semiconductor discrete components, devices, and integrated circuits arenas.

So if you were wondering about the fantastic bargain you can get purchasing a *TI* MPS430 micro controller *launchpad* you should get it now.

That one I recommend whether you have get or not the Nerdkit, if $ an issue go TI as any can afford it, and you'll never be at a lack for resources there.



The TI launchpad like the Nerdkit is not a new item per se but it's still quite available and at the same fantastic prices also without those long delays to obtain as those a few years ago had.

Just as then their programming software is only made for windows, which is ok as what most of the younger or many use anyway..

Still a catch and that's programming but they may have some free beginners resources *in their forums* for that too.

There you have to make your own judgements which means you should check out their tutorials first. Some junior to senior high might be able to handle if they have a little C language behind them.

Turorials would give you something to guage that by but without any C background you'd need to at least become familiar with that and did recommend some ways to do that prior.

Without any C basics and ability to write some small programs in C don't think you'll get anywhere with it even dropping the electronics which you could learn on the net or from those 101 etc kit versions enough for this.

You'd have to learn that yourself or most definately get the Nerdkit learning both your initial C and some baby electronics from there first.




In linux and in the present (yes you can):

This is definately for the seasoned here, don't recommend to any beginner.

Beginners with just basic C stick with windows on the TI stuff.



The mspgcc compiler comes in your more recent distros and is in the repositories also.

Then the mspdebug if not in a repository can be downloaded from sourceforge.

Should be documentation in the repositories and sourceforge plus there are others as setup build and debug *using those* in individuals articles on the net.

So with the msp toolchain there you can program the TI launchpad directly from that.

Here you need some programming experience definately but most on linux have some or enough there.

On even last years versions linux not recent enough you have to download all from sourceforge, and then take an incredible journey through internet GCC documents with a lot of reading on the net.

If lucky the one mspgcc pdf would cover a lot of it but no guarentee so too difficult for any beginner. Not sure I could do it either unless spent up to maybe a full month at on just that. Makes that windows version look so easy now.

Those that are seasoned with all the in's and out's in C programming and open source linux projects already probably could get through it pretty fast, but not as beginners.

So odd the avr series not much a problem as all the works to those compilers been done for a long time, plenty of documentations easily obtainable in the repositories so even a beginner could fair well there. This other unless gluttons for punishment is much easier to do on windows for now.


Ok well this has been my Rahu area no doubt and at least it's a pretty safe one that has positive potentials no less.

So my own conclusion on the micro controllers mentioned here is if you have no C background at all then buy it with the Nerdkit together. There's always extra other but you have to start someplace and that's one that will work for you.

You still might need to use something more specific for the launchpad but you might try working the mspgcc code for the launchpad in this and you can still always defer to windows if a no go.

Basically between the smaller C tutorial series which won't take you long to learn and taking any free online short lessons series in electronics will be enough to start you off on the TI launchpad in windows versions no doubt and with what they give you in that. Then any other specific terms etc you can always look up and go as far as you can or want.



One last item if you download the compiler from the net yourself and for a quick tutorial on using it get their free pdf for that as well. Just use your google search and type in "Codeblocks compiler tutorial" and you'll see it in the listings.

Those codeblocks and sourceforge people are fantastic what a great service for within reason to all ages.

Ok spent pretty much the whole day working with it and as far as the learning C or C++ part looks super that way.

My guess is it's just primarily for that of learning alone at this time and not quite a full standalone compiler as it needed to interface with the main one or one I selected of the linux os already on my system.

Still not even the slightest doubt that's one excellent way to learn fairly fast and they are experts to the extreme. So you will learn the C or C++ there no problem.

A good experience for me today as when ran into some command errors realized I didn't have all the library components on the GCC which I wouldn't have found out for quite some time if not for the code blocks compiler!

They do come sort of bare boned is why that happens but are available for you to download as need.

Picked up from the linux repository today and the given error I had went away which was due to a missing library.

In windows don't plan to check now but think is proably a lot easier environment anyway than linux in that case. Checked no it's just as easy which is very easy in linux too.

Continued Code::Blocks (R) software use, etc.

Ok was beat when wrote this last night so to complete the eval:


The code blocks is a cross platform compiler which utilizes the compiler of the os you install into. If you have multiple it shows that and allows you to choose the one you want to use with it.

It works on all os's and excellent in that. I used in my linux which came stock with barebone compilers of aound 12 different types.


Normally whether in linux, windows or the mac os you want to use the gnu gcc compiler with it.

You may or may not already have that in your os depending on the app's you use, but it's a renowned and perfectly safe compiler *which is a standard in many, many things*.

So in other than linux you'll proabably need to download and install that as well. So get the GNU GCC compiler and the GCC-C++ compiler libray for files to go with that is now two downloads besides your codeblocks.

Checked and for windows they show one already having those components with it as Mingw type includes the GNU GCC etc about a 70 mb download.


In some linux distributions you may need to add more of the libraries for GCC also as most come with just that required by your distro and app's to operate alone.

Final results though:

Is that code blocks works *GREAT*, and you'll be on your way to learning C and or C++ in high gear all by yourself :).

Then if need any extra help the codeblocks people provide that also, and if wish other you can read the GCC manual itself online as well plus there are any number of other C and C++ sites that will field, answer your questions for you.

All in all the free code blocks cross platform ide for compiling source code and their course along with it is one if not the most powerful asset on the net for your to learn your c and c++ programming with.

To make it all *even easier* their are some excellent tutorials on both setting up and using code blocks and C etc programming lessons on youtube!

Have a son and grandson interested so this is for them too go for it.

It's totally free so take advantage of it.


Thinking of first time beginners:

You can scale down to a simpler or single os compiler *they still do the full job* too like ones I had mentioned prior before or check by google or direct with sourceforge.net to search on free compilers.

On windows the ones including Mingw with GNU GCC etc around 10-14 MB in size so more compact and fewer menus in the made for a single os type. Such as Bloodshed's Dev-Cpp compiler working in windows will run superbly under the wine app in linux as well. You may want to down load additional of the GCC C core and C++ libraries to further update what comes with it also.

Then still use the cprogrammings.com (R) or (TM) for your course with it's lessons will indeed speedily get to where you need to be.

Not something for nothing as you do have to put in that study time to learn the C and C++ but thats the objective anyway.


***TI Launchpad complete for $4.30 is all***
Get's any there as far as programmings knowledge needed for the TI launchpad, and likely just the C or smaller tutorial for C will do the full job for you. So both young and old can really enjoy the hands on micro controller experience as a practical physical application of the C language your learning.

Some people in the forced position of sitting around no job, could take theirselves in new directions this way. Not to mention good for that young one electronically or pc inclined as well. Most would find working with a TI Launchpad pretty neat stuff too.

At a higher cost you can do it all without the normal std compiler with the Nerdkit which includes a small one or avr's small one just for their micro controllers. Nerdkits points you to self learning the small C required for it plus good practical hands on electronics physical wiring experiences in interfacing the mcu and components in it's projects.

Not all who are or who would be capable have the $ means these days though so getting the mentioned here and with a little extra study puts that TI launchpad in your grasp.

Also to go further at some point your still going to want the full C capability and will need to download that mentioned here then, and would definately need for the even easier pre-built ti launchpad.

That like the Nerdkit via an included usb cable interfaces to your pc for programming it.

Who knows what kind of new innovations or products you might eventually come up with from your learnings after that?

So learn and give yourself or your children too new or extra skills at the same time economically either way.



What held me up for years in this was not the learning or using of it as taught, could have did that long ago.

Had to do with Assembly language in hexadecimal and mnemonic opcodes I used to represent the binary commands at which the microproccesor directly runs under. I understood and worked at that level to a large degree back then.

It wasn't until I ran into a description recently which made it clear how C as a language interfaced with the XXX80X86 aka basic 8086 processor at that level that I finally understood it as in a flash or revelation.

Most would never need that or that depth but in my case if I can't understand *down to the nuts and bolts then it does me no good*.

Anyway had finally gotten that picture of it, *which makes it all 100% logical* to me now, and the rest you see here to facilitate for myself and any others the learning and use of it.

Ok also read one terrorist plot said directed towards Pentagon was foiled by HS via FBI in news today with an arrest made.

Not sure about date when arrest made but all the type and nature to include intended method matches of last toss for such done Sep 10th.

Was #48 - #28 and that and those of a university or that are highly skilled certainly are a Well and a Resource to their communities, so was in there.

Planned to use RC aircraft which is technically still skies stuff, so in there.

Outcome #28 as connected to the Well and other fits many ways leave to you.

So in the general senses without using the stars in this case all matches up just fine. If use stars with specifics probably much tighter and exacting but we don't need when we cover by general nature.

Yep that of extremes in some beliefs can ruin an otherwise good life, sort of like poison hate to see that in people.


Ok one area I sort of forgot about while polishing off all needed for the C languages and the TI launchpad is that of the old days made new vis Liberty Basic.

BASIC is the language that many of us started with 30 to 40 years ago. It was a great very easy to learn type whose commands were physically direct and made sense to anyone.

All original basics used were of the interpreter type and existed in the pc's sll types then in an area of ROM reserved for that. Most pc's then booted right up into Basic for you to use and choose what you would do on the pc.

Most basics had a direct interface to your machines cpu and memory using peek and poke calls.

In short you could write small assembly language routines by hand and plug them into an area of memory using simple basic commands like putting the hexadecimal info and mnemonics into separate date statements than a read and poke subroutine to place that into your pc
s memory for later recall to the basic program you were using them with at the time.

Sped a lot of things up and allowed for extra functions or utilities you couldn't directly do in the basic. Had written my own easy assembler using basic years back plus various graphics programs in similiar fashion too. Except visual basic blew the need for what I made out of the water, and I pretty much gave it all up at that point. *Shouldn't have*!

So then you actually had full control of the machine back then. Thousands upon thousands of programs were written by home users universities you name it. You also had all the other languages such as C available then to use on them as well.

For the home users technically and programming inclined that was nirvanna then, but for many others not they wanted it done for them. That and the super programmers needing more work and a host of other reasons resulted in today's world and the super programmers do all the main work for the users these days.



The Liberty Basic (R) answer:


In recent have been busier in other areas so pull most this off the top from that I remember from using and compared to other similar systems.


Anyway that nirvana using the old basics then can still be had and even better through *Liberty Basic* today.


It's a more powerful basic than the originals but does contain almost if not all of the original basics commands, plus in step with today's world many others that allow you to build your own GUI's aka windows interfaces and 100% develop your own fun or marketable *windows applications*.

It's a language which is very solid and easy to learn no vagueness about it or as abstract as C and others can be initially.

It's pretty affordable at $50 or under and usually free trial versions as well of the main product, the best version being *Liberty Basic Pro* and in totally free probably that called *Just Basic* a smaller version of Liberty is still available too.

The main point is it's very easy to learn for any beginner and that you can actually develop your own great working windows applications (programs) from them that are as professionally smooth and working as any other without needing tons of other programming assets to do the job. Just Liberty Basic alone gets the job done.

Now it won't be as won't be as powerful in the games arena as it has no strong provisions for using C or Assembly language that I know of. Those other are required in various forms and offshoots through the scriptings languages in the powerful gaming world's requirements.

Still you certainly can design some of the more basic games types from Liberty no doubt.

Even and much better though is that you can develop many other great windows applications where so much speed and power are not required.

Many of the smaller ones out there now stem from it and you have no clue as if one has the proper liberty liscense the finished app is theirs or yours and *it won't be marked in any way as being from liberty basic* :).

So it's highly used whether you realized that or not.



There are some things the makers of Liberty Basic don't mention or directly so in their documentation with their product that can add to that Nirvanna of old:


You can pretty much run any windows program with it as long as you know the path to it, think they mention that, but in any examples leave out the dos shell.

Think that's ill as all pc's have it and can be directly invoked *by any user* normally by going to the Command (cmd) prompt.

In liberty basic just add the windows command prompt's full path within quotes to Liberty basic's run command.

For example: run "c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe" is a common path for that and will immediately bring up the dos console window of your windows.

You can check your command prompt's path by right clicking on it choosing properties and open target location *shows you the path*. Probably same as I listed.


Now liberty basic will continue on with program your running even with that windows console up now, so if you just wish to check it out put an end statement after your run "path" and that will halt liberty.

A program could run that and quickly pop another LB window over it disguishing what may go on in the console window...Sound familiar??


In that command prompt which is the Dos Shell you can do many things just type help to see the full list of commands there, *but be very careful*.

Don't use any Dos Shell aka Windows console command that you don't fully understand or know all the details too.

Do a lot of reading in your windows help and on the net first in *studying the dos shell aka command prompt's commands first*!

Reason is if you don't you could inadvertently damage your files or erase the entire drive by mistake and it's look ma sob I have no computer. So do take care.

Other than that it *can give you the old nirvanna* in a new tech way and whole new world's of power with Liberty Basic.

A simple app would be creating your own separate pgm's menu that operates independantly of
the windows one.

It's not nearly as powerful as the C languages or PureBasic (R) itself but then it's not as costly as PureBasic either.


Liberty is a more true or exact mirror of the original Basic language itself. where PureBasic is C oriented and patterned somewhat after Basic in a few commands.

In PureBasic many of the original Basics commands are left out but is viable in presenting something less C looking that is a very powerful compiler for creating speedy and high power executables (programs) for many purposes.

Liberty though as said has almost if not all the Original Basic commands there and is even further extended by those and that needed to create your own gui's and windows programs.


Technically though you could run Liberty in a mode that appears exactly like that of Original Basic's itself without the fancier windows or just one window itself.

Liberty also has stronger ports and control of ports commands to it now as well to include some options for the usb aka serial ports. So a little study there may allow use of micro controller programmings too. Believe has in one case, have to look into at some point yet.

Liberty Basic's tokenized and compiled applications aka executables you create have plenty of speed for all normal and not ultra large memory types.

So for normal and normal techy applications Liberty Basic is *a very viable software* for you to create your own windows applications!

If your willing to trade off a little power you can create excellent windows and other applications using just Liberty Basic alone.


You could likely have liberty call an executable you wrote in C etc to do something which upon completion or to a batch file you write it to exit too closes the dos shell should that extra step be necessary and returns all back to the user halted or running Liberty program to gain some power that way too is one of my ideas that I'll play with there.

Can have a lot of fun there anyway as today's dos shells can create symbolic links as well.

So for those who aren't beginners to programming on the pc itself you can probably come up with many ways to extend what your LB program does and it's power as a basic programming tool.



Liberty Basic has been used in many schools for learning purposes kids and adults even today as well.


There's been a false facid put on by some educators or professors or those of C type communities in blowing off the Liberty Basic as not useful and that's what it really is on their parts a facid or facade only.

[While it may not be as directly powerful as C it all by itself does something C doesn't and that is too allow you to quickly create complete *professional aesthetic looking* and working windows gui's and windowed app's for pc's inherently and via templates that you would have to do tons of extra programming aka hard work in the C to accomplish that very same thing!

So Liberty basic really does have it's advantages for the beginner and *specifically for those who want to work with a more "user friendly language"* and where everything you need is built into just one program]*.

While alone you have some trade off in power here you do have a basic with the nirvanna of the old days extended into one that allows you to design and create wonderful packaged windows app's all by yourself.



How about those other OS??:


***Linux***
Checked and *appears Liberty Basic Pro runs under the wine app in Linux* as well so I suspect if you have a 2010 version of wine and all the normal code weavers or just microsoft's (TM) c redistributable's package installed to use with wine then all *Linux* users are in very good shape to run Liberty Basic as well.

Likely the Codeweavers (R) alone also being a super enhanced wine like coding would do it for you as well.

Have to check on licensing yet as believe liberty basic was by machine not OS so with the c redistributable's pkg and on the same machine shouldn't need another license to run the liberty basic on same machine but will have to ask about. Still in my wine directory but removed LB itself out of wines program areas until I know for sure.


***The Mac's (R)***

Very likely too is they can use the Codeweavers (R) crossover mac app for that and would download the external c redistributables package for that also.

Wrote that as hadn't looked to see if the Liberty Basic person or people created a version specifically for the Mac's. If not that would be the likely way to have the windows version work on the Mac (TM).

So if you want something reasonable in programming that is stable and rock solid plus simpler than C and others to learn for it's basics and also that will allow you great flexability in both learning and making your own windows applications then *Liberty Basic is it*, and me I'd say Liberty Basic Pro is it*.


Correction: Had one error regarding pricings was thinking in terms of pasts.

Currently LB4.04 runs $59.95 and the Pro version runs around $119.95.

Noticed while looking at it finally this evening that the help system done well has two panels to it with all areas you would need info on in the left panel. That stays in place when you click on an area which comes up in the right panel which you scroll and read through.

Also has a browser lesson feature where you can create your own lessons or use in a group where it makes an executable out of your lesson or code project that you can send to others to view and comment on.

Then the GUI teaching section of it is very vibrant and professional looking as well.

In some ways it and PureBasic if not Visual also share a common feature in the GUI department some call it a Visual designer and in LB it's call Freeform a type of template you layout your menus and controls aka objects on and which is what the actual application using it will look like. Can generate the code auto from those which
makes that part of the programming easier. Have used in past so know that works quite well too.

When something is tailored to a beginner it has tutorials which walks you through the steps and teaches the basic programming elements through a number of small program steps and programs liberty basic does that.


One other point in common with PureBasic is that you can call windows API's and DLL'S to use from within your programs as well. So while PureBasic is more powerful in other ways you still have some of the same options within Liberty Basic too.

It's always a trade off in speed and power between various basics but for a beginner an actual basic and tailored to the beginner Liberty basic gives you more than enough and you could always escalate to other later.


PureBasic is not really for a beginner no real tutorials in the product as most products though very solid descriptions of all the features functions and and the commands in it.

It is a thorough and powerful standalone system with the added extreme power feature of inline use of Assembly language within your program and it has the great virtue of *a lifetime liscense* buy once and you get the full new updates to it free forever. There tech support site and support is excellent too.



Of interest in both and perhaps other languages too:

There's no provision for the constant PI which is no problem you simply need to declare it or plug it in as a Variable in your programs:

A lot easier than some of the API and DLL type methods saving the headache.

Use letter of your choice: A = 355/113 which is close enough for most, then if need extra precision it's noted all over the net.

Will make the math alg trig etc operations easier.

Great news got word I had the individuals or persons liscense for LB so just like PureBasic in that regard I can install on any of my own PC's in any os I want.


On the C and Liberty Basic:

That turned out to be an entire project which had the components still downloadabel to be dropped!

So they weren't able to integrate it.

Not the same but you can still make your c programs with any of the other compilers had mentioned before.

Any compiled c source becomes an executionable so you could use LB's run function like the pc's to fire that up as a sub program or function that runs external to LB for some purpose or possibly direct or indirect pass some data to LB operate on one of it's windows, etc.

So should be able to use a c program with it in some fashions but as external or outside processes and not directly within LB itself.



Whether Basic or C language:

Don't let that above deter you a bit though as when you use a basic or a C language one thing you expect for sure is to be able to singularly work with numbers, math and
formulas.

In other words use the number power of them and the pc to do various types of
calculations to give you the results you might need in many areas. An easy example would be an electronics design.



Ok have covered enough on all pretty fairly in the programming subjects here for awhile, but figured once I covered C might as well list some other language options on some I'm familiar with here too.

Both C and Liberty Basic allow you to easily and directly do that.


PureBasic on the other hand only uses what we'd call normal math operations, and formulas etc for *the drawing placement and operations on Objects* in the main.

Any basic based on original basics has some type of *Print* instruction even C has the Printf function so that you can display or print your results.


In PureBasic the Print function is only meant for text$ strings alone and does not, and is not meant to display arithmetic or math results at all.

It's definately meant to create very powerful games also databases with and a host of other things but as in normal applications of math to aide you by directly printing results to a console display that can only be done using logical conditions operators. in the simplex and then by way overbearing types of api, dll, struct calls pointers and mem stuff that's for other to begin with...So pretty limited as far as normal math uses by a user that way.

It does actually have tons of formulas including the constant PI amongst many even but that math is primarily directed towards Objects and paths like ray and particle paths etc.plus you can create elaborate windowings plus normal windows applications with it too.

So if your interested in that type of thing your good to go.

So have to space those out and stay fairly cautious. Went to px and just took my time in everything had to stop atm there as that time again. Thought when asked was a month but actually almost a full 2 months till could make the journey myself. It was so nice just to do that too.

Used the project option of LB to make a folder for electronics for various circuit calc's and probably drop some C executables in there to run from LB code as well. Since one can call various api's and dll's plus write and read too and from them should not be any problem at all to pass data from one to the other too.

Basically a good way to use LB and extend it's abilities farther, and keep everything in one place.

Not as powerful as LB itself, but if $ tough then just like getting a free compiler and then using free lessons at cprogrammings.com (R) to learn.

You can also learn a lot in LB *free* too and via a totally free basic called "Just Basic".

That's from the Liberty Basic people as well and patterned after LB itself.

It's not as powerful as LB itself but does have quite a lot in it comes stock with a lot of example programs, lessons, a tutorial plus support areas at their website and it *actually allows you to make windows or other applications themselves from your own codings as well*.


The biggest difference between the free Just Basic (JB) (R) and it's stronger brother is that in Liberty Basic (LB) (R) is that in LB you'll operate at a higher level being able to write structs and directly call API's and DLL's to use in your program applications.

For free though you luckily can do quite a lot until with that in start.

So you can actually freely learn with JB very much like LB and *do it at the very same time your learning the C*.

LB basic once compiled and tokenized into an executable then like C runs extremely fast, so ideal for applications.

If pgm's within don't entirely make sense in enabling you to program or too much considering extra commands then narrow your focus:

Including syntax learn the math operations and functions within and write up a set of reference formulas for yourself and as a quick on hand reference then study the print statements next all conditional operators and logic for program flow control aka decision makings plus loopings in that then the various text strings areas.

That *core* starts you powerfully off enabling you to write a lot of useful basic core pgm's using formulas, text or page layouts and some drawings of your own objects or billboards in those etc.

Tons of stuff can be done with *any basics or c's normal core alone*.

If you later wish things of calculus areas in the maths check the community area on the net and you'll probably find some routines set up for that as well.

[Ok had an old book and while didn't remember using sure enough were some calculus examples in Basic for both derivatives (differential) and integration (intergral) calculus.

Not hard was of ordered airthmetic and math operations including as needed exponents and trig functions in them].


Once comfortable there you easily add the other of the various objects for the gui's windows windowings and other specialized areas.

C and C ++ can be treated same way in the maths and various operations departments..



If a few feel to primitive for them??? Try PureBasic (R) it's *Ultra powerful* for GUI's windows and windowing creations and applications while further oriented towards high power gamings engineerings and physics.

It's only somewhat patterned after original basics in a few commands, more c at high level like, so is not a true basic *as used here for initial learning and uses purposes at the practical levels, *it's much more powerful than that*.

As far as engineering itself though feel liberty basic pretty capable can handle very large to very small numbers out to 18 places plus using special api's and dll's gains further ground there and integrating the use of C executables and opengl to it would certainly get you there in a lot of ways as well.

It's the Individual's option there as most for that high professional level is already within the PureBasic (R) engine.

Only a true basic or unmodified C or C++ etc allows you to directly use math operations in normal char out display conventions. Though you can certainly do that most directly in Assembly language as well. If PureBasic (R) were to do that also it would really draw a lot more users too it as well.

Most of us including hobbyists directly need that in our uses of formulas for various purposes, and applications so I emphasize the Just and Liberty Basics (R) and the C languages for learnings and physical world project purposes here.

With Just Basic (R) totally free as well. C and C++ etc have huge librarries for near any function one can think of and Basics can draw upon the API's and DLL's for other too.

Still even in the C and C++ languages *you have to write all the formulas or code to call some there yourself so making your own library actually folder for just that also a good idea there just as is in Basic to start you out with.


So you might as well learn both and integrate both power and convienence together as said once you have compiled actually tokenized a compiled file etc of a JB or LB program into an executable it runs in *many cases practically just as fast as the C*.

That's because an executable in either is in binary the machines speak aka the *.exe files you see on the pc.

So you really do get a ready and pre-tailored powerful lot in the making and developing of your own windows app's in the free JB and especially the more powerful LB in an aesthetic speedy and very easy way.



[The purpose of adding all this in is to get people thinking of inexpensive ways they can increase their skills or their youngers to be more marketable. That as well as
creating useful utilities or app's for yourselves and even commercial areas too.

Both the basics have some serial com port addressings and data abilities so you could also using a serial to rs-232 converter likely write your own programs for some micro controllers eventually besides the use of free C compilers and a course to do that in the TI launchpad series, and theirs always the standalone with an inclusively given c compiler in the Nerdkit as well.

On Code Blocks (R) a little skeptical of it's wanting to take over all compilers stuff.

So denied it that option in windows and both it and the original compiler work great there but in linux didn't get that dialog msg and it appeared to pretty much trash my Dev CPP compiler leaving only itself able to display results with.

Gave it's just reward by removing it from my linux and just use in Windows 7 (R) where it's behaved very well and works excellently.

May have given the impression I can walk all over the place now but definately not the case, had a hard time prior accident responding to ups and that didn't improve.

What I did was walk into px and get go kart and on completion walk back using cane to the vehicle. Was about 75' or more each part and back was wanting to lock at the limits.

Learned once I start on a segment that far is *don't stop* as unlike before won't be any delay the back will fire up on the spot.

Went to shed yesterday at less distance when stopped in shed then back pain became excruciating to where couldn't handle but about 20 minutes max of that and came back in.

So can walk but slower and with a quicker pain response than before and then still once in some big place got to have a wheelchair or use a motorized go kart else would never make it anyway.

Distance limit around that 75' mark or full lock and in shorter such as just the 20' to the car when stop to open back hard fires. once can get set down subsides in a few for that.

Still as prior even a lot of movements when sitting bend, twist, etc fire the back the med only counters fully when doing near zero.

Can only sleep one side and easy to shift in night ending up back on fire forced awake and sometimes only can get 4 hours sleep when that happens as have to get up and sit down few hours to kill the pain.

That auto shifts ones op hours and as often as 3 to 4 times a month if not more. The force awake is even worse as have twisted the spine to far when that occurs so major effects.

So no question as far as being of disabled status period without even covering all aspects to it..

Ok was working with mini other day and sort of making it a mirror for all the programmings stuff put all the C and Liberty Basic on it as well. The mini's come with a small amount of ram, and was told it'd be slow on things a year or so back.

Never worried about it as adequate for charts and the programmings, and most I'd use, etc.

Howver when did that yesterday had decided to back it up on a large usb drive type that holds 1 terabyte. Anyway all running slow as usual and it wanted to do a version update.

Initially started that and thought no better stick with last one for moment, and when I aborted all H broke loose. The mini's drive light just stayed on and interactively with an ultra slow response time couldn't counter it.

The AV gave me an exe file as issue and was true it caused as was the installer file, but was not listed in the processes via task manager so tried to get mini to restart.

It did then came back up in security mode totally dark screen. Must have taken 40 minutes before finally completed that and a full restart occured.

Back up still that drive light steadily on?? Checked on net and finally found via one of hp's files connected with the dwm.

DWM handles a lot in compositing the graphics of all your programs in use and involves with the graphics accelerator and more. It doesn't take lots of memory itself but that it controls can be a lot.

It was stuck over and over reading and writing to video ram.

With hesitation and in the task manager finally decided only course of action was to end that dwm process. Held my breath and did that and apparently it ended what had been a double process there, and all returned to normal.

Actually better than normal as it freed up about 100MB or more of the ram I didn't have before. It'd always been slow from day 1.

End result all works faster on the mini then before as that little bit of extra memory available is enough for a lot I have.

So if you have a mini running slow you might want to read up on that on the net.

Hope some getting into the programming and/or the micro controllers as it's work that's also fun and rewarding. Something productive instead of just idle and zero for your time.

Tried boosting mini a bit more using 4GB of an 8GB usb for speed boost and was faster than the mini's solid state drive in that purpose.

Gained maybe 13 to 20% speed boost and definately noticed on most normal programs would load in very close if not as fast as the main pc did, and kept the available memory up and more constant as well, so was worth it.

Mini's not really high resolution 1024 by 800 max so a lot of major games that wouldn't play may possibly do the ones you can tailor like StarCraft II (R) so good enough, but near zip on steam's types. Not a huge player but testing what will do.

Didn't know what to think or say about Steve Jobs, just seemed to early for that and where he was going. The kruya side of life appears where we don't like it..It fits month wise but more when think of the overall beginnings of what became Apple (TM) a lot of odd to the begin but later he was all that was synomymous with it, and in latter deserved all the respect of his own accomplishments fully international.

I just reflect some on both he and the Woz had some parallels early on in certain areas, and also it was Steve Wozinak that fully designed the first of what they thought would be selling kits for a business, the Apple I (R).

Anyway though was sure sorry to see him go as most, just another unusual quirk in it all to have a cancer that took him at age 56.

Ok on the totally free and very util wise useful side you have Just Basic (R) to download and immediately use.

Then those that desire can get the not free but more powerful of Liberty Basic (R) itself for that and more. Those are U.S. based.



If your interests however are more in the *gamings* and direct uses of c, c++ or assembly directly within your basic programs that won't be free but is a good one just for those.

Blitzbasic (R): Has several available modules at $60, $80, and $100 depending on what you want to use it for.

A German company developed it and one many in U.S. use as well, and all in english with english manuals as well.

Buy one get versions for *all os's* with it as the package so great there.

Can do very sharp looking 2D and with the more expensive in the list great and excellent sellable 3D games as well.

Then as said much other than games could be done via the basic and as needed adding in any C's or assembly routines within your main basic programs or as extensions as you wish, so no doubt this is quite powerful
and enough for many, many needs.

It's an IDE compiler type where you compile and link aka build the *basic* source code you've written into an object code and in turn link that with the library codes for a final executable that runs on most any system.

So that's an option also if you can afford that can get you to where you may like to go in the higher power of yet basic programming. The commercial liscenses may cost extra so you'll have to check into that part.

Any catches? Well if you want to use just for formulas and things of that nature better stick with the basics mentioned prior.

This is definately for creating quality games and requires a lot more effort in other uses.

For example if you were going to write math programs for user interaction, etc you won't find the standard input statements in this. You have to employ more cumbersome measures of reading the individual keys pressed
placeing them into strings and then print those to the screen etc.

Had to figure out how to do a lot of the math as in formulas myself to apply in the old programming senses as in print statements direct to the screen. They are mainly showing as applies to objects and windows so wasn't initially intuitive or specifically covered. Can be done though as I did but is a bit of work to it.

It was better than PureBasic (R) in that as indeed can using the normal print statements put it on the basic screen from the program just like mainwin in Liberty Basic also or an executable for you and those you write for.

PureBasic is just a higher calling type of work even more specifically tailoored than this program.

Basically the BlitzBasic is outstanding for it's gaming purposes and probably best to be learned with that function mind alone. Again though once skilled can add in most of the C's or assembly to it, so can be a lot of
other options then.

One other that can get to be very, very expensive that's U.S. actually Mac (R) based but for all os's is True Basic (R).

Means what it says is true basic of old into the modern as one and in some versions if not all precision to 53 places in math op's. Covers your physics and then some.


You buy the stronger graphics and better visual design options as totally separate packages and can get to be extremely expensive there.

It does come with the full normal graphics of the older basics and a limited GUI type in the initial demo and $39 Bronze version.

Initially didn't think much of it when first tried as IDE didn't look as good or flashy as others but the coding itself turns out really great and runs very, very fast. Has excellent speed nothing slow about it at all.

Super easy to use and documentation of commands and how to program also is excellently covered.

Can't say have seen any professional game etc type examples but you sure could generate some very powerful ones there as well.

It's speed and the fact you can integrate both the C's and Assembly directly within it tells you that.

If you want to get into the flash of game programmings right away BlitzBasic (R) looks the best there and the modern of today's programming approaches which stem from C languages into it's version of basic.

However for the easiest of all actual basic languages and most powerful of basics for most purposes including scientific then True Basic (R) definately get's it.

The likely most powerful is True Basic (R) which includes most of original basics commands and does include various windows gui objects with code to them in the demo's tutor also.

Demo bronze is free but for any marketable you must buy the Silver version at least for license, and other modules as you need.

It does come up short of original's basics's fully functional peek and poke commands :( . In all other appears simply just great.

Unlike others was written in Assembly language hence the speed, and widely used for mathematics and scientific applications also.


The all in one package with both free and pay versions goes to Just and Liberty Basics (R) and the paid for is reasonably priced. It's tightly and smartly designed.

It too leaves out the original full functioning basics's peek and poke commands (:



Modern Basics:

Mainly Console and Gui or Object oriented including some original basic commands, and wonderfully that of fully functional peek and poke commands too :)

Pure and Thin Basics (R).

The ThinBasic (R) is not all that different than PureBasic (R) except it is free, but it is not anywhere near as complete as the latter professional and commercial type.

These both allow the use of C's and Assembly programs within empowering all using even further.

Just some main differences in commands and in getting things done..

A lot can be done in a plug and play kind of programming style in those, working with included examples and then modifying or improving upon the codes and tailoring to your specifics, etc.

100% freely so in the Thin Basic by just stating your app was created using it, etc.


BlitzBasic (R) also a lot like Pure Basic (R) with the latter sort of a standard to compare too in this. Is commercial but very powerful has same options basically but very highly oriented to gamings programmings. Buying it gives you the liscense rights on what you create.

No real order on the modern only types as it's a matter of what the user wants.

Also the first two basics in this sum up list are also quite 100% modern but they include more of original basics integrity and commands within them then latter referred to as just modern.

In the commercial versions once you purchase then you are licensed and able to market any you create, main exception was Thin Basic your good to go as was noted.


One thing didn't mention and that's Pure Basic (R) beats Blitz Basic (R) hands down in many ways, much better documentation, includes a Visual designer integral to it BB doesn't and PB itself patterned from a powerful game engine but emphasized for many other app's as well.

Prior made an improper comparison to very old basics was apples to olives quite incorrect, so above corrects for my error and ignorance.

In that arena PB is as just as they say "easy for a beginner to learn". Agree it really is easy does take a while to be proficient in the large scale as covers lots of ground.

Ok adding an extra safety toss done yesterday morning prior to posts, held up as don't consider necessary beyond the original for the month.

Only posting to remind *you have to toss* or use each new days transits to the astro charts to match up with each days stuff more closely.

The toss in resultant or outcomes had NE and SE areas covered for Ph water star events and Ryo dangers in links.

The same can be derived by transits to the full moon chart as well, which shows the major areas in of which I listed just a few with one exacting or multi layered proof for it's physical.

So cyclically we have an ever changing panorama of themes and the items plus situations matching them as influences that constantly birth new things into existance for us and sometimes ou daily lives as well.

Hundreds to thousands of happenings and events occuring in a given bhava's activities areas under very specific theme influences for that bhava area in each two week phase.

Besides the main themes for a given bhava that apply in the given two week phase, you have refinements to them via the transits where other aspects from daily movements add other types of themes in for it as well.

It's very reassuring that an infinite intelligence is behind all things, and that we can confirm ahead things under themes that will manifest becomes a source and sense of stability that a higher power is in control.

The fm chart 5th bhava activities under Libra's qualities has the Sun, Saturn and Mercury within it. Keeping short and leave full delineation to you, but we can easily note that both 8th and 9th bhava activities are ruled by Saturn in the 5th. Further noting we had the Sun combusting, conjuncting Saturn at the fm tells us that the martial in environments aka Leo 3rd areas plays a role this frame.

Learning to apply our chinese calendar date let's you see most dangers types ahead as well, scan by dates first for those and then in any at the time date apply the hours as well catches *a lot* for you.

Myself playing with the Pure Basic more made some fill colored large windows with text in some yesterday as a start for some projects.

A bit more than sounds used some intricate or artistic designs in them.

Just do a bit at a time placing all into my own separate libraries for future recall.

Using it and Liberty Basic both for formula stuff adding to libraries as well, and can call either basic or it's executable app's including C's pgm's from either basic so is pretty darn flexible.

That's why I was advocating learning and using a basic or what is called basic these days as well besides the C's language.

On the trusted free types one could use Just Basic with the free C's routines you create from the free code blocks or any other free c's compiler you like.

Would have liked too have included True Basic as well in that, but he only gives a tutor only for the gui part in his free version unlike Just Basic which includes windows gui options that you yourself can directly program with.

Still lack of cash is not an impediment to any young or old who want to learn and make their own windows app's with the free Just Basic.

As well as to increase the strength of what you do or may like too in any sciences, elecronics, micro controllers, or technical areas, maths, accountings, etc areas.

Games as well and stronger type by extending with C's and api call's, etc...

If you have no background definately start with these trusted above first and then maybe later after your strong in fundamentals you can add in the much more techy of the free Thin Basic for more firepower in games or your other pursuits.

It sure gives a venue to all the maths you learn or learned in school as well eases the learning for some and makes their usefulness clearer when using formulas in some of your own programs.

The virtual or no physical keyboards use virtual key codes and other similar so you'll still be able using those to program in your basics and C's.

Windows (TM) has had those as an option from at least Xp on, if it shifts to that offscreen via projection or sensors will still be key codes for their programming movements anyway.



Some really don't have much handle on basics from statements I heard or maybe some of the old examples had were too far back to some's likes.

Now if your planning a career in programming for some industry you are going to have to go by ISO standards and that's C++ and above all the way.

One dent there and that is it takes from all have read 2 to 9 years to master it!

Some schools say 9 months but think that would just be the mastering of it's basics.

When it comes to building a high tech game engine or even programming some very powerful games you need to be adept in solving simultaneous equations, quadratics and matrices. Then be able to write code expressing those in C++ one of the more difficult tasks to do in that from what have read.. *That's the main time factor*..

For those who learn it and I'd believe faster to learn Assembly itself can do it all there, and faster too!

The reason C++ a defacto standard is it's much more pliable and flexible in terms of structured programming then assembly and since 70's huge libraries of various dll's, asm and other make the writing of the C's code easier itself as can just declare or call in that necessary for an app from the libraries.

One funny on that though is the languages of choice used by actual scientists and or mathemeticians in their highly professional areas rarely favor the C's.

Theirs is a mix of scriptings type languages and versions of basics even instead and sometimes the older of Fortran as well. Tells you math in high orders of precision is not so easily accomplished with the C's, and guess they don't want to use what would give them a headache to get the job done..

Scientists like uniformity and great mathematical precisions and the first part hard to get in C++ and the second not so easy either.


In fact it's mainly only because of legacy and such huge libraries exist for C++ that make it worth using, as it is poor in it's own nameings and format standards leaving much there to the programmer. So for one project can be tons of slightly differently named functions, etc that it can become an albatross.

So sort of a big ouch there, and about the same maybe less to write your own high quality C++ 3D heavy on the power and speed games, sooo double ouch but then hinted at some of the why's to that.

Java is much like the C's but much more ordered and standardized so a delight for many to program in and runs as fast or faster than C++ in a lot of areas. Hence it's prevalence on the web and in browser functions and other app's, etc.



The good news:

However you can get the feet wet and have some serious fun plus *design the same great games in the correct "basics"*, much, much faster, years faster.

Then too one only needs C or small C for the micro controllers we covered before which is so very easy and fast to learn for that purpose.

Basic sounds funny as if too simple type of stuff, it's meant to make something complex easier to grasp, understand and use period these days.

The modern windows and OOP types do include some of what were the older 8/16 bit basics commands except applying same to *32 and 64* bit type micro processors. Commands which are of a user friendly common sense names and syntax type that are just as strongly valid today as they originally were.

Even some of the commands or functions in the C's directly stem from some of those, so not all is so outdated as the uninformed of wind bags incorrectly think and improperly judge by.


This first one besides other on free C's learning will start you to the ISO direction, and then a school might be nice too. Latter not absolutely required but may help some get to an objective faster plus giving you a piece of paper for official status.

Visual basic 2008 and 2010 are free from microsoft (R) and allows you to use *C and C++ plus C# within* it also.


Some large downloads but pretty straight forward stuff, fairly impressive with a webBrowser example as the very first project too. and obviously extremely supported.


Don't know about 2010 but of 2008 some C++ functions to create dll's or various threads options were not 100% within or allowed of it.

Nice to use some C++ directly in it though.


Think the licensing is on that you create mainly for personal, fun and learning purposes.




Using *modern basics* you can likely actually almost a given learn those *much faster, easier*, and make something very marketable as well.


Pure Basic is awesome as it's executables runs about as fast as many compiler's, excepting some in the very heavy then C++ leads but it is fast enough for 3D gaming too.

Nor does the C++ lead as far as actual execution speeds in all applications that you can create in pure basic.

Everyone loves their licensing features in terms of the generous user license allowing for use on any pc the purchaser proveably owns, and that of free royalties, etc and then some.

Some others below follow that same approach as well.

Myself I like the Pure Basic as it has an inline assembler for assembly language and with full modern peek and poke command options. That and it's coding is quite compacted, efficient and flexible so very fast.

Since it was structured mainly for efficiency as well as ease of learning for both beginners and experts alike in use and not specifically for any given targeted type application, it can serve as an environment which entire other systems, programs and engines can be used.

It's multiple libraries that are drawn upon in your programs consists of modules that were programmed in Assembly that adds to the speed in execution department.

It's overall a very optimized type of basic in that regard and you can also define and add your *own.libraries in as well* which may be ones for C or C++, etc and separate Assembly types in addition to other as well. Just an overall extremely flexible product in that regard.

Obviously besides their core libraries of those what you add in as your own additional libraries can be inline used and called for use within your pb program which is really great!



So two words *efficient and flexible* go strongly with it and also is that I like.


Got mine while was still yet working years back and *true to their word Pure Basic is always freely updated* to the latest version for your lifetime.


Mine just sat around for years.

Was too engaged in improving the 6 coins and timed wwg styles into one which was totally reliable in it's rules for accurate predictions.

Being very unhealthy physically and such a complex undertaking it took me years to achieve that to a satisfactory and useful level.

Health was a big factor though and now without the load of the wwg I am able to just fly through some new to me programmings structures and concepts. So *finally* and at long last actually able to use my Pure Basic software.


The cost for that now seems to be nearly the same as it was then about 79 Euro's (German product), which is around $109.50 today.

You most certainly can download free demo versions to check it out.

In some of the heavier programming one might apply to it, their are some hidden code features that won't work until you buy the official version.

That;s so the unscrupulous don't take advantage and pop out a high tech release off of their free demo version.

Don't worry it will work fine in any normal and reasonable areas and you can amply satisfy your evaluation or even learning needs before you purchase it.

Right now is an exceptionatly good time to download either a demo or better a beta and actually the release candidate if you can.

The release candidate version 4.60 has a whole new host of 3D graphics commands and tools that were added in from their 4.6 beta cycles since last year with a switch from the ODE to the Bullet engine for rock stable physics aspects and control in your graphics for gamings, etc areas..


I could go on and did cover a lot exclusively on pb there, but that's as it's what I own and most familiar with compared to others.


Does give you a much better idea of what these Modern Basics are about these days, and that is what I wanted to get acrossed as to what basic actually means in today's programmings and products for such.

Nothing dumbed down about it at all, only a moran would think that, as it's very high power techy stuff in a class of it's own.

All of the heavier modern basics are all good with BlitzBasic and Darkbasic originaly specifically tailored to and for both in 3D gamings with good speed and super smooth, and the beginner all.

Now if want PureBasic for 3D games like the others and although you might not think so good there, now is an ideal time there too as that latest version 4.6 now is almost fully out and will take a very strong role there too.

True Basic only partially covered as demo had only a tutor for limited of GUI at the Bronze level, minus that it was strong on older programmings, extended into modern, some basic graphics and very to ultra strong in math oriented type of basics software. Again that was only of it's demo.

Assume that at the higher levels which are definatly not cheap that has strong potential. No doubt oriented to some scientific professional areas about the main can say about it.


Blitz Basic my final impression was much higher than I started with as I'm not happy with any when you have to buy additional things for it, but I may have been wrong there, and I do think it's a great product in spite as tailored to quality 3D gamings as well..

Dark Basic also was very impressive and was one in the final three that are tailored to the quality 3D gaming creation.


Power Basic (R) another but know little about.

Real Basic (R) know little about..

Just a few things to rectify.

Have always said we can via the wwg iching find the intial start of most including any natural phenomena. Much earlier this year ran a test on local area rain for a full month which came out perfect. Prior to that had done just individual dates on whim which always worked so the month test was just an expanded of the established.

Can do close if not the same in vedic astro and yesterday I very generalized it as were some other aspects that would catch hour but felt overkill and don't usually bother with.

If you want to be totally safe using Visual or Liberty Basic instead .you can add a free Opengl engine to either of those and make your techy 3D game or other very techy products that way. You'd pretty much have to teach yourself on the Opengl so a slight drawback for some.

On the Opengl part you could get some assistance there with the Liberty communities. Assistance is still not quite as good as lessons or tutorials.


Don't know about Liberty's speed but definately can use Opengl engines with it, and the developers using liberty for that show some good examples of that on the net.


Also not a thing wrong with Pure Basic it's faster and you can add beyond the very good one that comes with it any other engine you wish. They will never cause you any grief in the ordering and activation of their products either. Have the first hand experience there.

No software is ever totally perfect and each has it's own plus and minus's so never expect perfect and choose what works for you.


Only area to be careful about is what you download that was created by *other users themselves*, and true of any program anywhere as some few will put maliscious code in the stuff.

Even allows line numberings and enough of original basic's commands to
include the needed of the older used DOS commands that will make any old
timer smile too. Many older techs, moms, dads, and grandparents remember those.

Can simply use for maths, electronics or about any area wanted in new ways and then advance to the other as you need.

It would be more cumbersome as far as some of the older programs and the many basic math formulas used in those as the moderns and db pro don't directly allow all math operations. So you'd have to become innovative in constructing some workarounds for those where needed.


So older programming needs may directly be better into the Just and Liberty Basics there, and that of db pro for the main of techy gui and super gamings purposes it is intended for.

The # symbol represents real numbers for decimal point type number entry..

That worked but have to spruce up with screen formatting commands for centering, etc and a better looking display, etc.


So you'll have to do a lot of playing around on those types, but worked ok answer was correct using their IDE and to keep as a source then compile run or produce the exec both.

They do have scientific notation included as well, but hard to find good examples there, so another area to experiment with for correct uses and
syntax yet.

You can set any varibale such as x or xl equal to the last formula and then print the variable instead. Same as all original basics.

In that if you use xl or XL for that then any fractional result will be dropped. If you use xl# or XL# then the full result obtained. The print xl or XL must include the # in latter case.

As said did find their statement about having that of the old basics in the new 100% correct.

All the Math and needed key basic commands are there, you just have to experiment some as I did to get the right syntax in your statements.


Won't point it out but for those very good in the old basics you have the equivalent of peek and poke commands too, and unmentioned as such a method for inline assembly as well.

All the older from the 8 bit days of Apple, Commadore, Amiga, PC, Atari etc will be most happy with that.

It's that and the modernized extended of for today's microprocessors to address any within a 4GB ram range.

Probably most realize from my example basic electronics formula that if you work yourself up a collection of those or other areas formulas into a library, there's any number of ways you could use them and also in various of spiffy graphics displays, gui or animations stuff as well.

Ham's can have a field day there.

So making yourself a library in your area of interest or work a very good idea.

That's any area really even stuff of sewings, seamtrices, recipes what ever your interest lies that you'd like to condolidate things into a library
and use in spiffy ways.

With both ultra 2D and 3D graphics power besides the older of original graphics options you can make some great commercial stuff besides the
ultra of gamings including both single or multiplayer net types not much you can't do.


All that and at great speeds too, so the power of that modern basic including the original of olds in it to boot, is clearly enough for the great bulk for the extreme in classy stuff.


Can't think of a better value for that though and you can further integrate it via puregdk into visual, pure and other basics for added options of those langauges as well.

Just awesome in the ease of learning, power and capabilities for any age.
