Can't say it's fully healed by a long shot yet, but by Sunday finally got all the swelling in lower left leg down to almost fully normal levels for my particular health status...

Had some visitors Saturday but though was obvious I was shot out, when asked didn't say much about it, was nice to see some concerned though, and was very much appreciated as well...

An excruciating day as didn't take morphine for one 12 hour period so could clear the body as much as possible then, my own power 8th type experience then...

No Xcode books for programming on the Mac, are you kidding???

Really, maybe you should check before opening up that yap!...

Does about all that's needed for some good initial basics with working app's in *that drawn of and on the Mac only*, and one can easily extend it even further with other!...

Did you actually think that of an Xcode compiler and IDE specifically written and developed for the Mac (TM) that there wouldn't be a book covering it's graphics and the passing of info including numeric to it's objects...

They don't come with blank screens after their turned on, and it's windows as well as a good share of it's app's involved use that of the Xcode (TM) IDE...

Didn't come from puff the magic dragon and his 20 piece orchastra...


That book just mentioned covers the basics and in great depth as well, *so that anyone* can in start make simple but powerful and very good app's on and for the *Mac* itself, and a lot do exactly that...

Add the one set of tutorials they have purely for the Mac at the App store, gives you additional options...

You can add your own graphics images and icons that you create from other graphics or art, sketch etc programs to the windows and a number of the controls aka Objects, then also that of speech or sounds, etc and you can make some pretty spiffy Apps period!...

That book alone likely more than enough for the start with some of the other of Objective C the language used the author mentions, which have... 

Are a lot of products even some games patterned after the simple such as puzzle aka hidden object types and many of those if you check have very pleasing graphics windows, effects, etc and others types also that are definitely of good quality and nice ones...

You could add in animations not all puzzle aka hidden object games use, but likely vis subroutines when the correct image overlaid button is clicked, should definitely allow for such...

Then some call in the vid player for near the same purpose, so yes you could do it all at basic levels in Xcode's Cocoa, etc...

Some just use good artworks graphics for their images with small written and speech conversations or sound effects in the search for hidden objects, etc...

Buttons etc can be overlaid with images as the hidden objects, etc each triggering given event responses that the designer aka programmer wants for them of the above and more...
 
To get superior graphics animations results then you'd likely use quartz and likely other options I haven't gotten into myself yet, but when it comes to just images or even flippings for sure not needed...

Many other app's really don't require the ultra in graphics, just a good pleasing easy to use GUI, and all I had in mind for the electronics initially but some other could be challenging and even more fun as well...

Just chilled tonight did some downloadings of cloud stuff  in my norm for hours tonight, nothing tough about that...


That below refers to the numerous of other Xcode books which many including me likely wasted money to some degree on...

That *as titles can be a bit misleading*, so pointed some things out, better than most would do...

None are a big waste but none were covering the interface of the code to the Mac's UI aka windows and controls, etc as does the above book...

Was nothing but debug consoles or view controllers of which latter would want for Iphone later but not right away, and then 20 some chapters showing nothing but a Debug output, got to be quite irritating regarding mine and others needed use to apply to the graphics to the Mac itself and not just it's console output...

Likely this may save few others some time, for initial plunges as many do start from their home use in the first place, so was worth mine as well...

Here just mention of Mac's as working there for now, etc but for Windows (TM) you can use of many choices, *visual studio expresses, codeblocks* or devcpp compilers and more for c, c++ and inline assembly in some for 32 bit systems...

PureBasic (TM) will allow such on windows and in theo Mac too as well as Linux...



On Mac's (TM) Cocoa (C) when using c or c++ options, you must choose the initial libraries and pre processor commands for them as each as different from that of Obj c...

So when those differences start to sync into ones memory, and you can move from setting one to another up without the book, says your getting the bewildering of it's basics down...


Quite a complex IDE and will handle Assembly language too, going to love that, as used a lot in the past, but will move further in the C's first as weak in those...


That's also why I fail to see why they don't include a normal Original basic for all home users, as Basic uses the lower level of the Assembly in a totally straight forward fashion, 100% direct...

An Original Basic would allow any home User to easily construct many useful programs for themselves...


Even if it's not an OOP type like liberty basic, they can still create their own basics styled of objects and do lots for themselves, *opens it up for everyone*, and a protected type like the Old GW basic could be used...

There are many other to choose from as a model for the more powerful version you'd make and have on a *Mac*...

The basic could be purely interpreted or of the compiler type even better...


Two versions:

One for most that doesn't allow inline assembly access, keeps it safe for those who don't understand assembly...

Then a second for those more advanced, allowing the use of inline assembly language subroutines to be used with their basic programs as well....


Assembly and the *common sense* of Basic were always my favorites...

Those are highly logical and *totally linear* in the sequential straight forward step by step languages, where everything made totally logical common sense in the using of it...

[Basic would give you all the higher math options needed, *right from the get go*!...

Most maths in that, are accomplished directly in Assembly by the Microprocessor, it's registers combined with memory locations, vis dedicated Op codes of each function the hidden under that of the Basic you used itself...

So *there are no math limitations in a Basic language* especially on the higher powered of today's X86 related Microprocessor or coprocessor types]...

Oh don't let anyone give you the unsage advice that Basic or mainly Assembly is for the dangerous of hacks only???...

There's hundreds of other less complicated but very effective things they use for that of web or site attacks instead....

Many don't involve very sophisticated codings at all, some near zero of code and almost never that of assembly, but of other web based languages, multiple servers or some real simple of command prompt type stuff in some from what have read...

Do zip there and have no interest in such other than having looked a bit at some of the used!...Better to let the ISP's, Biz, Govt and such worry about that, and they should!...

Also doubt with the highly efficient of memory management systems most OS's use these days that even a beginner using assembly could mess up, as the systems will kill your program or IDE in the worst case...

Then of basic by itself not a chance it could do any significant harm to one's machine...

Didn't know prior, but learned if you obtain the GNUStep (C) compiler and it's library, you can then use Objective C *on any OS* also!...


Most tutorials you get at Mac App store minus some had mentioned , are extremely useful and for the types of projects they indicate, but those alone are not enough...

Those get you well started in the making of practical things that you will definately use, so not a waste as you'll have their format structures down for using in your own creations as well...



Below where say *Mac only*, that is as the IOS devices *allow for easy use of higher maths* in the actual programs and their visual displays on those devices already...

More on actually *integrating* that of the C or *C++* into the Objective C itself especially for higher maths...

That through Cocoa for the Mac only, rather than just separate builds of each language, is some on the integration just needs put out a little more thoroughly in a video tutorial app we can purchase and have on hand...

That of integration was stated as such and very inferred from had read, hence a need for such tutorials, but in lieu guess as long as you include it as or like a library in the header would think you could make calls to it from the Obj C...

Tutorial's explaining those options and all there in a bit more thoroughly, would be very helpful and do a world of good...

Did find you do need some good reference books also to include the more thorough for strength in the basics of Objective C starts for yourself...

That allows you to go further forward in developing your own programs, other than what the App store tutorials show...

Many good authors there, too numerous to mention...


You do run into small errors at times, but in the overall most are excellent stuff and of a class or schoolroom like styles...

Gets to be a little too much on that of showing nothing but debug or console outputs only, especially for obj c or c++ which can operate on the windows and other objects quite directly!...

Their books were great tech wise but darn after two to three chapters on debug outputs it's time to move it to the useful in the machines graphics, i/o and other outputs...That or add a book for such... 

Then of the separate of some's video tutorials, there are humerous points in those when they make a slip or when someone enters their workspace while their doing the Video...

The real life stuff in that too...

Staying a whole lot productively busier on that below, including the very near same in the smaller on the MS Windows types as well, so not lots of extra time for much else...Passes the time unlike others going to their social bashes or things like that...


Had a slight diversion there other day as an old floppy disk that holds one game image that my wife plays nearly every single day went kaput...


The old Apple II+ or IIE (TM) along with similar of other 8 bit machines back then, isn't worth very much just a bit over scrap these days, *it's the Original Apple I and II's still having their original motherboards* that are the rare of high paying yield types for collectors...

Some few of us still keep ours and roots there for that of strong sentimental reasons only for the most part...


Anyway the disk's DOS tracks had either *took a hit* or picked up an surface impurity, something like that...

Faded data would be good as any, as the disk media was only about say 35 years young :)...

Anyway was able, using another disk's DOS to Bload the game and then Bsave it, the old fashioned way onto another good disk yet, leaving her good to go there now...

Left out as don't need on the Bload:

On a Bsave you include the start address and length of the bin file for  memory, and was a normal binary type not copy protected, so just that using that of the system masters copya program or similar would have likely did it too...

If the first disk's hub didn't look so raggedy, would have used Master Create to redo it's DOS but was looking rough... 


That side track as a separate diversion, took me down the path of examining a few other disks, plus finding and reviewing many various of notes on different subjects....

Those that had written in both that of word processings and the old pure text file types themselves, clear back to just about 1980 marked yet audio tape softwares just leaving the scenes around then no less, got my first 5.25 disk type in 1983 and most notes from there on!...

Started with a clone was all we could easily get overseas then, and eventually shifted to the superior of the real thing...

Everything was about back up's with those floppy disk types it was then very smart to back up the original of your purchased software products, and then put the originals themselves up keeping them untouched and in good near unused state when possible...

Then you'd use or play on your backup's instead, back then any number of softwares also required blank disks to store and retrieve program generated info's from, including games...

You'd build up some pretty healthy floppy collections pretty fast in just couple of years that way, including any documents or program works of your own writings as well...

Some confused distributings with that of having back up's which is entirely two different things...

In a great, great many cases you were authorized to make what they'd call an archivel back up, and some left out that word and said backup, but was up to you whether they liked it or not as to which you used and played...Then that of computer clubs also had more options on some of the products that way as well with special offers to free on some selected that way back then...

Were other sources as well which included that of public domain softwares and that of many free programs or utilities in that of various computer magazines on the market then...

In the latter you'd type any you liked in for yourself and save them to your floppies, plus some books such as then Howard W. Sams publications (C) were like that as well, those were rather fun times then...

The smarter choice was to use the back up's obviously!...


We do it today bit differently as most back up's are as good as the new and today's disk hard drive memories as mediums can last and last, and last much longer, then to the cloud *forever*...

Cloud when can use the best especially for that of books beyond just softwares...

On pc's and such used to have some get very angry at the fact that wouldn't share softwares with them in the pasts, and never would as don't believe in the distributings of others liscensed properties period...


Was a most fun and enjoyable experience and in this life that is something nice to have a little of yet once in a while...


On that of the social bashes prior:

Purely for just health reasons plus have never been greatly interested in outside parties of any type except of certain specific friends and then also while was in the military or org's govt associated in pasts...

For some it's a big thing but not me, and for all that's said many, many people don't go to them, having other they'd rather do instead , if not rest...

Along the sidetracked but enjoyable, going through old II+/E disks, many of the no longer needed which is a bunch, and reformatting those to blanks, so have a good set of spares...

Like have no need for the word processing types along that line, saving only one that reads old notes have, and then a standard plain text file editor type only...


Had a bit of fun in one old arcade game type that needed to make a back up of...

Prior to that was going through bit copier programs and sorting the trashed from the useful, and put the ones that have issues to the side...

Aside what had bought are those that come from magazines or books and a few donated from likely the same...

Though had long learned to be careful of the freely given by another in same, with only exception if came direct from a computer club that usually would be good to go, on others depends on the person and also on the how they made it, etc...

One of the more famous free types straight out of magazines but from one book in particular and designated for any to freely use later by the same authors became a commercial version as well...

Very few changes were made and it was more for those who didn't want to mess with the programming of it in Assembly language:

It was called "Bag of Tricks" and it too came with a book which was even better, as in the form of a course itself...

So even if you had typed the programs in yourself prior, the new book alone was well worth the price then....

Many of the magazines are in archive readable fashions on the net these days...

Nothing very much abnormal as Apple (TM) had long published most all of the DOS 3 up to 3.3's intricate workings and details in an updated DOS manual for all Aug 1980...

In fact the whole purpose of having a second drive in what they called the Duo disk drive is mentioned in their dos 3.2.1 patch to version 3.2 which was correcting errors in the copying of files from one disk to another...

Then finally in DOS 3.3  further routines added for the copying of disks and files allowing that to be done using a single drive only... 


Ok anyway had initially used two to three different bit copiers with one very top of the line type had bought before the era ended, and they all failed!...

Only that best one of the three actually wrote the file on the target disk, but it was a flop or corrupted...

Knew could take a lot of time if had to examine sector by sector and or start changing parms, speeds and other so wanted to avoid that...

Remembering that of the Master System disk were two of Apple's standard Copy and transfer programs, one was Copy or CopyA (C) and the other was FID (C) which was one of the added to DOS 3.3 itself...

[Took a shot with FID first and was immediately rewarded as was successful in first try there, which in turn saved tons of time, as would have had to do a lot of re reading of books on the other]!...

Thats as knew had been said it's programs were designed to take in and account for some types of the protection schemes where bit copiers at times failed...

That bore it out very well last night and may have known it before but after so long a time had forgotten or questioned it, till saw the results again last night...

Don't have a huge collection but still like a number of the lighter arcade type and the text and graphics adventures plus dungeon like types...More enjoyable to me than some of the more modern...

A lot of times you'd get together with friends and with chips and dip and a multiplayer game (non net) all would enjoy, the more direct and real in relationships was a neat advantage there...

In lieu than you load it in the raw undecoded data form only to the ram memory from just a magnetic scan of the disks track(s) themselves instead...

Nothing easy in that unless an address or data field error which is still slow to find and then that of a byte or bytes error within the sectors data area will cause checksum errors too...

Have to type in the old version of ZAP in and save it, as that can read and write too any individual byte(s) of a sector and in that restore it...

Not easy there either as you may not know what goes there and you have to plug and play observing the checksum's that result...

Makes me tend to think that some who were hackers back then had to work similar on their jobs and be well paid for it, as your talking about tons of time involved to do something on that order...

Most other of us just used similar for the purpose of disk repairs and making a back up disk when we could...Repairing would be the more often of needed there...

Hadn't read any news yet, knew of some things last night such as what tossed on and other financial and will check later today on results...



On that where referred to 8 bit machines of Apple's (TM) and others as cantakerous *that was not the pc machine portion*, but in most entirely to do with the various of disk drives especially not all were created equal, and the disks plus adding in any accidentals and electrical glitches things during a read or write things of that nature...

Not protecting disks needing write protection, bad storage habits, or not observing proper order when booting softwares of multiple disks, etc...

Any number of things including true but false errors as some disks required very high sensitivity of the read head than others, specifically depending on how the info was originally placed on them...

Had seen in old where a non mfr's drive would not read a brand new disk straight from the store, while the Mfr's would, then same result at times when you buy anothers drive and they altered it's speed some, doesn't take much...

The machines themselves were actually great, barring you had no desktop, nor a lot of today's taken for granted instant convienences...

Had two was having problems with getting on and off errors and then when raw scanned them, came out about the same way which was frustrating...

Was initially puzzleing, since was having no problems with most other good ones which would boot just fine at the time...

Final answer was to yet once again clean the heads, and that gave just a bit more read sensitivity, and the two thought bad disks which would on/off show errors, would then boot just fine...

One of the few that wouldn't was placed so tightly in it's jacket it couldn't even spin and would foul the disk head every time as well, found a replacement for it...

Not seeing anything that new in the major, more like the erosive sides in a lot of things as they are at the present...

 Was a little maintanance sign thing for brief outage on the 6-2 today said satellite or sun spots, etc and obstructings for loss or effectively darkening of transmissions, etc had occured then...

Went to px to pay bill, park was a little far for me so rode the cart to car which is of the allowed policy in place, and had it been closer than would have returned but legs and balence were on weak side today...

Had what looked like a woman waiting to see what would do with the cart, so pointed at the cart and at her a couple times, she made no response so dismissed was too tired to mess around or read minds...


One very good thing came up for me in healths stuff, but had to wait for a couple of certain episodes to clear first, just to be sure, but have indeed got the lower leg and feet swelling back down to totally normal...

Only swells at the one time now and then with it's edema the extremeties aka ankles and feet even lower leg get's to the cooler to cold feeling then, but in a day or so after all the swelling goes fully down now, and know the capillary blood getting there as well, as all starts itching then for the healing part right away...

So no longer beet red swollen really dulled and dulling up now, and is a whole lot better than has been for a long, long time!...


Read an article on women of too assertive a nature which was one of many things and on the G star clash date died yesterday as well...

On hold now!

Put most of my programmings adventure in the other area, and have to re edit some there to avert any user disagreements though think really aren't any...Needs re editing and downsizing though, for sure...

Spent couple hours on using images in Objective C a couple of different ways, one of a draw mode from youtube was pretty neat as well...

If any get the Visual book for the Mac his code works fine but he's using the Mavericks, instead of standard png images as he used, reduce them to Icons proper size than works on older versions...

Seemed to be more about the use of the Preview App to create icons that didn't fly on my earlier OSX version and that of Png images themselves do work fine in Xcode when they are of the correct dimensions...

Rather than the Shapes software author had mentioned, found that of a program called Puzzle Shapes both quite inexpensive as well, to be much better, and it offers numerous different unique shapes that one can use for their images, which they incorporate into their own programs...

Works great for the prior to Maverick's (TM) OSX versions...


Some might think funny or weak, but in any once I have a concise overview of a system or whats involved of it for a particular need or wanted area, I always then focus strongly and entirely on that of the machine's or system's basics itself before moving on to any other...

Just as in older times when we first learned the machine's BASIC which was it's OS then on into the DOS for shells and bash like language in scriptings for the machines op's, video modes control and to which it's disk operating system interfaced hardware wise with, etc...

Then finally after well grounded there many or some of us, would plunge on into that of Assembly language itself for absolute total and total control of that and all the machine's areas and functions...

Step by step has always paid off in any subject...
