So far that of the El Capitan OS (R) has been very seemless in operatings and was happily surprised many of my older App's would still operate on it, and just a few required further updateings...
That as the Objective C itself has been modified aka redone so that of the Swift (R) language works seemlessly with it, so some older programs would need updatings to work as well...
Seems odd that in the most bought of games areas that they list some like say the Batman types only for their later OS's when they in fact were put out to run on the older ones initially, but perhaps those with older OS versions can go to the game website itself to get the older versions of those...
Mention that of Batman as it's one of the few games ported to the Mac (R) *where everybody* in comments across the board and years, raved on just how well it looked and played on the Mac itself...
They've got a pretty good selection of Space games too, think it'd be a feather if they added some as Starpoint Gemini 2, Dark Star One, Space Rangers HD, etc of those caliber as intermediate space types to that of the high power types they already have, then to the latter Distant Worlds would be quite a catch too...

Spending bulk of my time in the other of programmings studies instead of just this, liesurely so but methodical in note takings and codings, yet fairly steady with the Netflix also, in watching a lot of *the Flash* recently which have came to enjoy very much, lots of neat *time* stuff makes it even more interesting...
Was doing some C++ of simple math calc on Mac other day or wee hours 15th, and noted if avoided Swift (R) keywords in it's Msg display types than could stay closer to how written of standard C++ alone that way, but does look that the using of Swift itself is quite powerful if not much easier for most on it and in IOS (R) by itself...
Apple (TM) made some very powerful and what has to be ranked as great achievements in that of their own languages, and quite unique to all of their product lines in such...Nearly an understatement in that...
So far reminds me in a lot as similar to python, but supercharged turbo wise or something :)...
Was more allowing of deviations actually acceptances in Xcode (C) for initial C++ drafts itself alone where errors even often clear up as further code lines of a program introduced, and then if used CodeBlocks 13:12 (C) instead it also does work very well, but it runs even tighter in that of syntax strictness as it too needs and uses that of Xcode itself also...
Spent lots aka tons of time browsing those areas and many things still greatly use that of C++ as good for that of cross platform aspects to other OS's too, so does seem good to learn and use both...
Wasn't true for the older C++ areas of using the If statements and conditional operators though...

Main issue aka reason for the problems was the C++ tutorials though they were were sold for the Mac, *had been made and done on a Windows pc*!...
They all do run fine in Windows, so for the small of about only $7 price for an entire *60 lesson course* one can't really complain abou that...
However the Apple (TM) uses a proprietary C++, so not all lessons such as that on it's If statements and conditionals *as they were shown in the tutorials*, would fly on the Mac...
Had the tutorial pre declared aka set up some types such as int x = 20; and int y = 8; of that form ahead of the main function and then within the function used that of the: if (x>y) statement form, then such will run fine on *both the Mac and Windows pc's* as well...
Had me going for awhile...
Anyway can use it and Swift separately in Xcode...
Even with good books and tutorials *the main that one needs*, one will always have to read and obtain a lot of other needed in info's, data's, for ideas, intitial tools and updates, and other from that of online sources anyway...

[Only main and very lengthy problem had was in the begins, as one tutorial *insisted* on using that of a recent but earlier version of Xcode and it's IOS sdk for it's codings examples...
Stupidly like some others also downloaded it which took couple tries and was very lengthy in that, to use for the EL Capitan OS, and initially it worked well to some degree not totally, but when it was further auto updated *it didn't work very well at all*, with too many errors to run his particular but good IOS codeing examples...
Didn't know or wasn't clear at first that many of the IOS examples can also be converted to run strictly on the Mac's OS's as App's also, which that alone very highly improved my attitude for using that of IOS to learn and use as well, once I knew that!...

However the good thing was it turned out that using that of the latest Xcode version and IOS sdk allowed his IOS tutorials to run perfectly with only possibly minute changes to the example codings needed in some...
Further even of much older 4.2 Xcode version tutorials of others found with sometimes just minor changes most of those would run perfectly fine as well...
Their Xcode in some to many instances will offer to update that of any errors it notes, which makes things easier, and or in some cases you can just make your own desired corrections, or in even a few just run it as is, as well...

Even of others sources in books, many do leave in the hurried or intentional of errors in their examples as do some of the free net tutorial types in some also...
You might find you have to delete an extra set of brackets that was inhibiting interaction between code statement areas and or add duplicative of some small sub function into a display line or other to get the desired result...
In short your made to think and understand the line by line of the codings and the code elements within each of them, in order to get the examples given to work for you...
There you either make it or don't...
Spent an hour on a simple counter (Loop) that was said to work and had typed it in exact as was shown on both systems...
Flopped, from the code finally understood was an extra set of brackets that prevented two sets of line statements from interacting...
Then one code element shown in it's cout for console had to be replaced with another that auto updated the count...
After that it worked exactly as was described to do...
Guess that's why it can take a long time to learn the C++ language itself...
Don't care about becoming great at all, as more of a time filler for me, but do really enjoy that of the languages and what can be done with them in App's, and who knows may at some point develop a useful App or two out of it....
Unlike the real heavies will still put time into other things also and in a lot it's about staying preductively occupied...

On the C++ stuff, we all have glitch days at times or that of Networks and our pc's do, and to top it off not all softwares are ideal in the first place either...
Even of downloads some can get jilted in the very small to much greater at specific times of many factors themselves...
So we always have to be cautious to some degree when we try new things...
On Windows you have lots of choices as far as IDE's and Compilers for C++ goes, with the very top of the line that of Microsoft (TM) and some other commercial companies as well or in that of Xcode (C) for the Mac (R)...
At least you could start out free with MS anyway, but in speed and begins that of CodeBlocks or Dev C++ as most others recommend for that of tutorials and learning purposes is good enough, and you could later go full bore once you have the essentials under your belt...
Still can get an ill or clipped version in them of downloads at times, and on Windows so far have had the more consistant of good results with that of the Dev C++ over that of CodeBlocks, could have been in the download, or even in interactions with some on the pc itself as well...
Mentioning as you will at times get some similar surprises and you may find it best to always be offline when you do that of your own programmings with them...

C++ was given quite an emphasis here, as in learning and understanding of it's essentials *first*, as it makes that of any other high level language much easier to understand and learn also!...
Some such as Xojo (R) require no prior understanding or experience in that of programming areas whatsoever at all, to learn and use it very well in App's...It's a very practical type...
However if you have just the basic essentials or guts of C++ alone behind you, you can then see a lot of the logic in of it's commands, expressions and statement types are indeed also very similar or in line with that of C++ uses as well...
In the written Xojo is also quite similar to that of the older basics statements itself, and in that it is very easy for most any to learn, pick up...
Just one higher level language example in that but would apply to a large extent in many or most others as well....
