Now when we move away from the pure Lunar year and apply zwds as an annual chart *for a person's birth chart*, it's another story as *the great bulk of stars in their annual chart are of that person's from his birth chart itself*!...
Most do add just a few year dependent extras into to it, but the great bulk *are your original birth stars yet in the same original sign*...
Only the sectors aka *house type life areas* move from year to year for one's annual chart which shows their new areas, and activites for the year as opposed to the original houses positions...
In the advanced their's a lot more to it, in the form of transforms, etc:
The 4 si hua transforms (changes) for a birth chart and each new year or birthday 4 new ones for it, which most can easily use!...
Though are others more complex that can be used also, that of birth stem, etc transformations, house transformations, self transformations, Fly or flight types, etc..

Had prior mentioned of a book course the Northern 18 star system, but that actually comes out to 14 Major stars in any, then in the rough of terms 12 Assistant stars: 6 Auspacious, 6 Inauspacious, then another 4, 6, or more popularly used Minor stars for a normal of 30 - 36 stars used in ZWDS...
May have been lower originally of the Northern system, but the concept and use of Si Hua aka the 4 transformations were originally unique to it alone...
The number of stars can go well beyond that of the many starred 108 - 143 Southern ZWDS system which at one time relied on stars only...
These days most use a combined version of the 2 systems..
ZWDS requires a birth time that's within a 1 hour window + or - of your actual birth time...
If don't know you could always experiment to find the Self/Life destiny that matches your traits, or approach to things, and good if a friend, etc also confirms that's how they see you as well...

It's accuracy stems from that of it's using that of *the lunar phases themselves* for that of it's chart birth's times...

Usually of the challenging types when a chart is fully examined one will find some inbuilt counters to that as well, then automatically there will be given months, or dates and even hours which also neutralize such...
Then most that have worked for a few years in life already know each year is different with some being more challenging than others, so it's not like there is a shock in that, after all...
To the scoffers or haters yes to your displeasure the ZWDS of more advanced methods does in methods include assigning now accurate charts for that of births of twins, etc as well...
Not something I personally really need to use, but it's a good additional option to know about...

Notes: Long wanted to upgrade comments on a software area as most can see prefer Parashara for that versus any other, but of Kala are two strong preferences in it's favor as well...
That of one's year vis Solar Return charts are both excellent and accurate plus unlike others his does display the exact date and *time* at which the Return occurs...
Also of the WV prefer it when it comes to it's handier viewings of the daily aspects as well...
Kala a more specialized type, whereas Parashara a more traditional type...
In most other stick to Parashara for basic work here, but there's good things or features to any of those softwares, and pretty much the very same is true of the Western Tropical (WT) softwares I utilize more these days for here as well...
Use the parallex settings with western tropical, but not western vedic as the dasas of it from 3rd to 5th level don't make a lot of sense compared to the conventional...
